The Pure Bred Party Animal The mixed wheel Patrol has a new haircut but is still down for anything and truly unapologetic when it comes to shredding trail. Being one of the longest standing bikes in our lineup, it was the obvious choice to mix it up. Updated geometry to accommodate the 29" front / 27.5" rear wheels and revised suspension tune might just make you ride all day, and then all night. Jibbing, jumping, pumping and hooting your way down the trail, the updated Patrol loves to party. From bike parks to your local trails, the Patrol isn't concerned with where you ride but rather how much fun you are having.

Where you pushed up, now you pedal. Where you rolled, now you boost. GIDDYUP SUSPENSION DESIGN We want to make it as easy as possible to experience great rear suspension performance. The GiddyUp suspension system is designed to behave intuitively across a broad range of setup. Because, we get it, sometimes you just want to grab your bike and GiddyUp, without checking your setup. When you do, it will always feel good. We did this by balancing a 25% progressive leverage curve with a consistent linear rate of change. Anti-squat is tuned to enhance pedaling performance and acceleration. Overall chain growth is moderate and reduces after sag so chain tension doesn't get in the way of the suspension working. This translates to killer small bump compliance and great mid-stroke support that gradually transitions into an end of stroke ramp that is subtle, yet supportive. The amount of consistent progression is carefully optimized for both air and coil shocks. Riders are able to add or remove volume spacers in air shocks to suite their individual riding style and there is no compromise to bottom out support with coil shocks. The Sentinel has 150mm of rear wheel travel when used with the supplied 205mm x 62.5mm stroke shock. It is also possible to install a shorter, 205mm x 57.5mm stroke shock, to decrease the rear wheel travel to 140mm. A wide usable sag range of 25 - 35% allows the rider to tune the feel of the bike; from poppy and playful, to planted for plowing. REFINING THE LEGEND The new Sentinel may have a similar silhouette, but we've fully redesigned the frame with updated industrial design, features, and geometry to turn it up a notch. The leverage curve supports the bike higher in its travel, leaving plenty of room for big hits while keeping it light on its feet to remain nimble and quick everywhere else. This gives it the lively, sporty attitude felt in the Spur and Smuggler without sacrificing its capabilities in rougher terrain. New size specific chainstays and a 64 degree headtube angle keep riders balanced with great traction on climbs and descents. All of this creates a bike that encourages new riders to push their limits, while ensuring a seasoned pro feels none. REFINED DETAILS We took a step back and looked for ways to improve the Sentinel, not just for the sake of change but for real, tangible steps forward that riders will feel and experience. We added internal frame storage in the downtube of our carbon frame. The B.O.O.M. Box (Burritos Or Other Munchies) is positioned below and isolated from the water-bottle cage mount. This allows you to leave your bottle installed in your cage while easily getting into the B.O.O.M. Box, reducing clutter and fuss on the trail. It also prevents noise by not placing any weight on the door itself. With an easy access lever and two supplied gear bags, riders can stow away snacks, tools, a tube, or anything else they want to have along for the ride. Inspiration We went into the Smuggler project with the intention of creating a bike that had the quick and high-energy feel of the Spur, but with a bit more travel front and rear. What we ended up with was a perfect blend of the Spur and Sentinel in geometry, travel, capability, and weight. It's not all downhill in the PNW; there's plenty of singletrack, technical trail, and meandering connective routes. The Smuggler is perfect for a day when your path comes across all of the above. Progression In All The Right Places The kinematics are similar to the Spur with a little over 27% progression. This provides a bottomless feel in a mid-travel package. Paired with the Fox Float X shock, the Smuggler can be set up to suit any rider's preference. Looking for a bit more progression? Just add a larger volume spacer. All of this equates to a super lively, active, and forgiving rear suspension feel in any terrain. Frame Design Evolution The Smuggler exhibits a few frame design features that further our push to have clean aesthetics while remaining easy to service. The most notable is the headtube area that provides better functionality and serviceability. The new headtube has integrated bearing cups and no longer needs headset cups pressed into the frame. This allows the frame to have super clean cable ports at the front of the headtube with fully guided internal cable routing from the headtube to the port above the bottom bracket shell.
